A lot of people are talking about arming up and walking the streets with weapons to deter ICE agents, and I do understand the sentiment and even applaud their efforts, it’s not actually going to stop anything. In the end I think it’d just be an accelerant.

These ICE people are not trained. 2A to protect against government or police overreach does actually require some level of discipline be at play, and from what we’ve seen of ICE, they are not that. One of them thought that someone driving at 3mph away from them was a threat that requires immediate lethal force – and the entire political machine agrees with them.

All it takes is one more itchy trigger finger piece of shit like Johnathon Ross to see a group of armed Black Panthers coming around a corner for things to go really bad, really quickly. The Black Panthers are, in reality, simply protecting the community by patrolling with rifles. But Renee Good was also, in reality, simply trying to get away.

These assholes are itching for a shootout, and I don’t doubt they have a whole checklist of actions ready to go in response to one already. When it inevitably happens – when someone shoots back and some ICE dipshit pays the price, they’ll capitalize. They’ll make the ICE agent(s) out to be heroes, and anyone on the other side to be cartel members. Maybe they’ll announce that they’ll be providing “security” for cities. They’d be like…

“We’re protecting you from these violent cartels! Here! Look at these videos of evil, evil rioters again! Only we stand between you and that chaos!”

…but what they really mean is a military occupation of cities to deter opposition.

That’s my whole problem with the second amendment being paraded as a defense against tyranny. Guns perpetrate the tyranny in the first place, and the more guns you add, the more likely it is to happen.
