So here’s how I’m seeing this whole mess.

Basically, federal agents killed someone for nothing other than he was carrying a gun. A gun he was legally allowed to carry, and a gun that he was not holding, reaching for, touching, or even possessing when he was killed. They wrestled him to the ground, took his pistol away, then shot him to death. Alex Pretti was shot to death in broad daylight, after being disarmed of his legal firearm. There were multiple camera angles. We all saw exactly what happened.

Immediately afterwards, Trump and his cult tried to claim Alex was a domestic terrorist. He was there to “massacre police officers” because he was there with two loaded magazines. Trump, the President of the United States himself, said something to the effect of “you can’t carry around guns. you can’t have guns”. The VP still refuses to acknowledge that the officers even made a mistake. There have as of yet been no investigations – last I heard about it, the administration was actively saying they would not investigate. Federal agents also blocked state investigators’ access to the crime scene.

So, to recap: Masked, unidentified federal agents killed someone because he had a legally owned gun at a protest. The governments first response was claim it was justified. The government refuses to investigate the shooting, or do anything about it at all really.

The NRA is silent on the topic. Conservatives are split between defending the agents who did the shooting and wagging their finger vaguely and uselessly at their computer screens about the verbiage concerning concealed carry.

I hate to use a cliche, but could you imagine if Obama did exactly that?

Shit, whenever a Democrat has responded to a literal school shooting with even just a generic statement like “Gun violence is bad”, or “children shouldn’t be shot in schools”, conservatives all over America was convinced that it was the first step towards mass-disarmament and tyranny. We got Elected officials on Fox News talking about how “the Democrats are coming for your guns!”.

I have not seen a significant Republican or conservative response to “masked federal agents disarmed then killed an American citizen, in an American city, in broad daylight, while a dozen people filmed it, while the government actively defends it”. They don’t give a fuck.

There are no protests or demonstrations. There are no news stories. There are no lawsuits. There are no Republican senators or representatives going on TV even to say what happened was wrong. There are no calls for policy change. The government hasn’t even apologized, nor has it made any meaningful changes or commitments.

Conservatives are hiding from the whole thing. It’s fucking pathetic.
